Explore Exotic Indonesia Street Festival in Bukit BintangKuala Lumpur, Thursday, Sep 1, 2016 The Indonesian Government has launched a tourism promotional campaign in Kuala Lumpur aimed at promoting Indonesia and increasing international visitors to their shores. Titled Explore Exotic Indonesia Street Festival, the four day festival running from 1-4 September is being held in heart of Bukit Bintang, and is the avenue through which Indonesia’s tourism industry with its Wonderful Indonesia program will be exposed and promoted to Malaysians. Dubbed Indonesia Street, the festival runs from Starhill Gallery to Lot 10 Shopping Centre, where a variety of Indonesian-themed attractions such as music performances by popular Indonesian artistes, cultural attractions, art exhibitions, fashion shows, culinary treats and more can be found all along the way for people to explore and experience. Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia Herman Prayitno said that Indonesia Street would the best and most effective way to promote the archipelago’s diverse tourist destinations. He further elaborated that “Bukit Bintang is Kuala Lumpur’s epicentre, which is crowded by both locals and expatriates. Therefore promoting our tourism industry through this Indonesia Street is believed to be the most effective strategy to attract foreign tourists to visit Indonesia.” The Indonesian film Kalam Kalam Langit was also launched, showcasing the religious tourism destination aspects of Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).
