YTL Corporation Berhad's revenue grew by 40% to RM24,161.1 million (US$5,405.2 mn) for the financial year ended 30 June 2022 compared to RM17,270.4 million (US$3,863.6 mn) for the previous year. Profit before tax increased 147% to RM1,558.7 million (US$348.7 mn) for the 12 months under review compared to RM631.8 million (US$141.3 mn) for the 12 months ended 30 June 2021, whilst profit after tax surged 459% to RM1,173.7 million (US$262.6 mn) for the year under review compared to a loss after tax of RM327.4 million (US$73.2 mn) last year.

The Board of Directors of YTL Corp declared an interim cash dividend of 3.0 sen per ordinary share, the book closure and payment dates for which are 11 November 2022 and 29 November 2022, respectively.

YTL Corp Executive Chairman, Tan Sri (Sir) Francis Yeoh Sock Ping, PSM, KBE, said, “The Group registered markedly improved results this financial year, recording revenue of RM24.2 billion and profit after tax of RM1.2 billion, owing mainly to our key utilities and cement businesses.

"Our construction division saw better performance, recovering from pandemic restrictions at the start of the financial year, supported by the revival and acceleration of infrastructure, housing and commercial projects. Meanwhile, improved results in the property segment were due mainly to higher sales, whilst our hotels division continued to see better results following the gradual recovery of the tourism and hospitality sectors as the year progressed.

"EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) grew 23% to RM5.0 billion (US$1.1 bn) for the current year, compared to RM4.1 billion (US$0.9 bn) last year."

YTL Power's Full-Year Profit After Tax Soars 1,286% to RM1.2 Billion (US$274 Million)
Second Interim Dividend of 2.5 Sen per Share Declared

YTL Power's revenue increased 65% to RM17,793.9 million (US$3,980.7 mn) for the 12 months ended 30 June 2022 compared to RM10,784.7 million (US$2,412.7 mn) for the 12 months ended 30 June 2021. Profit before tax grew 120% to RM1,396.4 million (US$312.4 mn) for the 12 months under review compared to RM633.8 million (US$141.8 mn) for the same period last year, with profit after tax increasing to RM1,222.8 million (US$273.6 mn) for the year under review compared to a loss after tax of RM103.1 million (US$23.1 mn) last year.

The Group's EBITDA grew by 27% to RM3.6 billion (US$812.2 mn) for the current year compared to RM2.9 billion (US$637.6 mn) last year.

The Board of Directors of YTL Power declared a second interim cash dividend of 2.5 sen per ordinary share, the book closure and payment dates for which are 11 November 2022 and 29 November 2022, respectively. Combined with the first interim dividend of 2.0 sen per ordinary share declared last quarter, this amounts to a total dividend of 4.5 sen per ordinary share in respect of the financial year ended 30 June 2022.

Tan Sri (Sir) Francis Yeoh Sock Ping, Executive Chairman of YTL Power, said, "Stronger revenue this financial year was driven primarily by our merchant multi-utilities segment in Singapore, water and sewerage business in the UK and telecommunications segment in Malaysia, with the gain on disposal of our investment in ElectraNet in Australia also bolstering profit.

"Key strategic developments in our business this year included the completion of our acquisition of the Tuaspring power plant in Singapore which has been integrated into our existing operations, improving operational efficiency and strengthening our overall value proposition. In line with our shift towards more sustainable energy solutions, we have embarked on the development of a new solar generation facility of up to 500 megawatts, as well as the YTL Green Data Center Park in Johor, which will be the first data center campus in Malaysia to be powered by on-site renewable energy."

Malayan Cement's Full Year Profit After Tax Climbs 1,058% to RM82 million (US$18 million)

Malayan Cement's revenue increased by 98% to RM2,705.3 million (US$605.2 mn) for the 12 months ended 30 June 2022 compared to RM1,369.5 million (US$306.4 mn) for the 12 months ended 30 June 2021. Profit before tax jumped to RM129.2 million (US$28.9 mn) this year compared to RM8.2 million (US$1.8 mn) recorded last year, whilst profit after tax grew to RM82.1 million (US$18.4 mn) compared to RM7.1 million (US$1.6 mn) last year.

Tan Sri (Sir) Francis Yeoh Sock Ping, Executive Chairman of Malayan Cement, said, "The Group's significantly better revenue and profit before tax for the year under review was due principally to the consolidation of results of the 10 cement and ready-mixed concrete companies as well as their respective subsidiaries acquired in September 2021.

"The Group's EBITDA increased by 152% to RM511.4 million (US$114.4 mn) for the current year compared to RM203.3 million (US$45.5 mn) recorded last year."
